Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience developing firmware for micro controllers and processors (FPGA would be nice).
  • Experience writing software for BMC or BIOS (strong desire for).
  • Experience writing software for drivers under one or more of the following operating systems: Windows, Linux (VxWorks and QNX).
  • Good communication and business relation skills
  • Must be proficient in the following languages: C/C++, DOS, LINUX shell scripts
  • Must be proficient in the use and understanding of Windows and LINUX operating systems
  • Must be able to understand product datasheets and schematics

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for improving software quality as delegated by management
  • Gather and analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • Develop software that meets or exceeds product software requirements
  • Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system
  • Develop software requirements specifications, test procedures and other documentation
  • Develop and coordinate software release process and installation procedures
  • Must inform management of impediments and potential schedule slippages
  • Other duties as assigned

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk up and down one flight of stairs and approximately 1 block from building to building
