Summary

Provide quality assurance support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain ISO 9001 and AS9100D QMS
  • Participate in resolving quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce GMS’ commitment to quality improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with GMS’ customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design.
  • Review customers’ requirements Quality Notes (Q Notes) and alert Sales and Engineering of possible exceptional Q-Notes
  • Facilitate and promote the use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
  • Participate in PFMEA and DFMEA analysis.
  • Coordinate with Senior Quality Engineers to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Participate in quality reporting and management review process when needed.
  • Interact with Materials, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and all Manufacturing functions.
  • Interact with all levels of customers’ QA, Contract Manufacturers and all suppliers including issuing and responding to SCARs.
  • Participate in suppliers’ audits.
  • Conduct Internal Audits and report findings.
  • Participate in DQS Audits as required.
  • Perform FAI on product from Turnkey Suppliers and in-house production and generate the AS9102 report.
  • Help create Inspection Guides for product.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors in applicable field and 2-5 years of experience in the field of Quality
  • Experience with ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D
  • IPC-A-610 certified required, J-STD-001 certified preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Inspections and manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in the electronics / electro-mechanical industry.
  • Current knowledge of all manufacturing ISO, FAR, DFAR, ITAR advantage
  • Certified ISO 9001 and AS9100D preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess the ability and desire to encourage and facilitate a positive and productive work environment for all employees.
  • Must be able to work ON-SITE the standard 8 AM-5 PM, Monday – Friday schedule and additional hours as necessary.
  • Limited travel required.
