Summary

Design, develop, debug and test computer software for new products by performing the following duties.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or  Electrical Engineering
    •  AND a minimum of 5 years of experience in software lifecycle design and development
    • OR 10 years of experience in software lifecycle design and development working in a related  industry
  • Good communication and business relation skills
  • Must be proficient in the following languages: C/C++, Python, DOS, LINUX shell scripts
  • Must be proficient in the following Operating Systems and have experience writing drivers for one or more of the following operating systems
    • Windows 7-10
    • LINUX – RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS
    • Nice to have
      • VxWorks 5.0-7.0
      • QNX
  • Must be proficient in microcontroller programming, both OS and non-OS
  • Must be able to understand product datasheets and schematics

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review software requirements to determine feasibility of and provide reasonable Level of Effort estimates.
  • Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to review interface requirements between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements
  • Develop software, software test procedures, and related documentation
  • Coordinate software releases and release notifications
  • Provide support to existing product lines
  • Ensure software quality meets customer and minimum GMS requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience Pluses

  • Working knowledge of ethernet h/w and s/w, i.e. bare metal, soft switches, soft routers (e.g. ESR/CSR).
  • Ability to setup and configure ethernet test environments capable of testing dozens of simultaneous 10/40/100G data connections
  • BIOS / EC development – 10 years actual and current experience

Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
